This is an excellent movie! Peter Mullan gives a masterful performance as Joseph, an angry, cynical man, who has been ground down by poverty and drink. He has lost faith in himself and feels he is a bad man. But then he meets Hannah, who shows him love and kindness. The discovery of the tragedy her life and her vulnerability, gives him a reason to feel needed again.
Depressing but good

Good, true to life tale of living on the fringes. My husband couldn't take it and had to leave half way through. I really enjoyed the film. Strangely uplifting in a dark sort of way.
This is a must see movie!!!!
