Did I miss something?

The fairly average/negative reviews for this film made me add it to my rental queue with a fair bit of trepidation, but very glad I did. A very pleasant surprise and not really what I was expecting, in a good way, which is maybe why reviewers haven't universally embraced it. Perhaps people were expecting something it isn't. For me, this works great as a touching kids drama, but equally well as a sci-fi film and boxing flick rolled into one. Great CGI (and I hate bad CGI), great fight scenes and a great storyline with real heart. I found it touching, funny and exhilerating in equal measure. So why the poor reviews? Wasn't expecting much from this movie. Got it for my young boys thinking they would enjoy the big robots & the boxing. They loved it but surprisingly I really enjoyed it too. A nice little father & son reunited story line
Fantastic!

The only way this movie could have been better is if I was 10 years old again!! Somewhat cheesy in parts, (the relationships!) but really engaging great for all the family, great effects great action movie.
The Underdog

Fantastic Film and well worth a watch. Slow to get into the film and start very frustrating to watch. But this film concludes that the underdog can always be a competitor.
Nice enough

Light enough piece of fluff. Enjoyable but about 30 mins longer than needed.
